Darryl L. Walker, CPA, CFE, CGFM, Owner, Beason & Nalley Beason & Nalley, Inc. officially announces that Darryl L. Walker has been promoted to the position of Owner. Mr. Walker joined Beason & Nalley in 2002. Prior to that, he was employed with Defense Contract Audit Agency for almost 34 years, serving in a number of capacities including Senior Auditor, Supervisory Auditor and Technical Specialist. He served in a number of offices, including the Bell Helicopter Resident office in Fort Worth, Texas, the Huntsville Branch Office, and the European Branch Office in Wiesbaden, Germany. Mr. Walker’s work in the European Branch Office provided valuable experience in evaluating the impact of foreign currencies, foreign procurement regulations, and non-traditional company accounting and operating systems on U.S government contracting actions. His broad auditing background with DCAA includes operations and financial audits, equitable adjustment claims audits, defective pricing audits, educational institutions compliance audits, support in criminal and civil fraud investigations, and service as a witness for the government in procurement hearings.

Mr. Walker has been a principal speaker and lecturer for numerous workshops and seminars during his auditing career. He has provided training and workshop presentations related to DCAA management initiatives, cost accounting systems, defective pricing, internal controls, claims, reimbursable contract submissions, and government contracting issues. He has also developed several technical workshop and government contract compliance training outlines and courses related to DCAA issues. His audiences have included representatives of small businesses located in the southeastern U.S., government procurement officials, DCAA managers and auditors, and members of the Huntsville and Alabama business community.

Mr. Walker graduated from Texas Wesleyan College with a degree in accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Alabama, and is a member of the AICPA and Alabama State Society of CPAs. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Mr. Walker is an adjunct professor for Athens State University and currently instructs classes related to government procurement.
