News & Events Beason & Nalley, Inc. Announces Mr. Michael E. Steen, CPA, Has Joined Our Government Contracts Consulting Group
Mike is a former Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) senior executive, having served in various capacities with DCAA for thirty years. During Mike’s tenure with DCAA, he served as a Regional Director of two regions and was a member of DCAA’s Executive Steering Committee. As an executive with DCAA, Mike was responsible for the management of audits of $25B annually and the management of agency resources approximating 800 employees. In October 2001, he was selected for the Senior Executive Service and in 2006 he received the Presidential Rank Award, one of the highest Federal civilian service honors bestowed on government employees for exceptional service. Mike will be serving Beason & Nalley’s government contractor clientele in a number of capacities, including preparing companies for DCAA audits, performing risk assessments of clients’ cost accounting systems, evaluating company systems for regulatory compliance at all organizational levels, litigation consulting, and advising clients in complying with the Federal Acquisition Regulations and Cost Accounting Standards. Mike has a BS Degree in Business Administration from Wichita State University and received his CPA certificate from the States of Kansas and Virginia. He is also a graduate of the DCAA Director's Fellowship Program in Management, and has a Masters Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University. Mike also completed a number of OPM’s management and executive development courses including the four-week resident course “Leadership in a Democratic Society” at OPM’s Federal Executive Institute. Mike resides with his wife Delee in Marietta, Georgia. They are the parents of two daughters, one a junior at the University of Alabama and the other a graduate of Wichita State University.
