Executive BiosMichael J. Woeber, CPA, Owner and Director
In 1998, he joined Beason & Nalley, Inc. just as they were beginning a niche practice in government contractor accounting. In 2001, he became a shareholder in the firm and leader of the business tax group. Mr. Woeber continues to specialize in business tax issues such as executive compensation plans, deferred compensation plans, cost segregation studies, and consolidated tax returns. He also consults with government contractors on various state & local taxation issues and incentives. Additionally, Mr. Woeber has worked with several companies in assisting them with tax issues related to corporate mergers and acquisitions. In 2005, Mr. Woeber began exploring opportunities for Beason & Nalley clients with the Federal Research and Experimentation Credit. Those efforts led to the formation of a partnership with Axiom Solutions, an engineering and tax analysis firm from Denver, Colorado. Together with Axiom, Mr. Woeber has performed over 30 R&E tax credit studies, with over $12 million in cash benefits returned to Beason & Nalley clients. Mr. Woeber has spoken to various groups on the benefits and qualifications for the Federal R&E Credit and continues to be the firm’s lead expert on the R&E Credit. Mr. Woeber has extensive industry experience which includes working with clients in government contracting, manufacturing, technology, and biotechnology.
